  • Subject: SQL Mystery?

Assume I have dynamic SQL in my RPG program. Something like:

SELECT RRN(CSTMSTPF),* from CSTMSTPF WHERE CSZIP="78342" into CurRRN,
CSTMSTDS

(except I build a cursor and FETCH into CurRRN and CSTMSTDS)

I'm selecting the RRN and fields from the customer master file.

What conditions would make RRN be the _real_ RRN of the PF, and what
conditions would bke RRN be the RRN of the subset of records (ie start at 1,
and continue up sequentially).

I have this situation and I know there's got to be something. When I run
CGI programs, the RRN is sequential starting at RRN. This is good, but I
can't put my finger on why.

Any ideas?

Brad
