Overrides within RPG-ILE

Hello all - somewhat simple question:
 
Can & how do I perform an override within a RPG-ILE application?  I need to dynamically override a database file to a specific member, based on the contents of a field from another file.  I am assuming I would need to code the overridden file with the USROPN keyword, and then open the file after overriding it and close before deleting the override.
