What has one to do to make EVAL start trimmin' on it's own??? If i code C EVAL String = 'Hello ' + 'Jim' i have a correct string. And C EVAL String = String + ' forget it' doesn't change String (and i think you'll receive a compiler error/warning for that. Or was it with the CAT-opcode when one didn't code a number of blanks in factor 2?). As you didn't compile your example, i won't mine... ;-) Mit freundlichen Grüssen / best regards Anton Gombkötö Avenum Technologie GmbH Wien - Mattsee - Stuttgart e-mail Office : mailto:Anton.Gombkoetoe@avenum.com Homepage : http://www.avenum.com Lest das Redbook / read the redbook "Who knew you could do that with RPG?": http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg245402.html +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
