Hi Kevin,

What I do is create two constants one could be call "UPPER" and contains all
the letters in upper case and the other could be call "LOW" and contains all
the letters in  low case, then 
I use XLATE to convert the field. See the following example:


 D LOW             C                   CONST('abcdefghijklmnopqrst-   
 D                                     uvwxyz')                       
 D UPPER           C                   CONST('ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST-   
 D                                     UVWXYZ')                       
 D*===============================================================*   

 C     LOW:UPPER     XLATE     GNAME         GNAME
