Barbara (formally know as Queen-Momma-...), It isn't that the companies' standards are so rigid, it's that they are very simple: Don't do anything that the person who wrote the majority of the system doesn't understand. In some businesses the programmer's are too busy keeping up with the business itself to keep up with technology, too. It's a shame, but a fact. In the long run it costs the business, but I don't think a lot of business owners understand that. I don't think that a lot of technical people understand that. Of course, it's hard to see the advantages of a technology that you are not using.
