This isn't canonical, but I feel that OO is not a way to write code, it is a way to THINK about code. Have you taken a look at Bruce Eckel's web site? http://www.bruceeckel.com/ See "thinking in Java" as an example of what I mean. Using subprocedures will help you move toward OO "thinking" but RPG only supports encapsulation. Without inheritance you can't really do OO in RPG very easily.
