In other words since the content of the memory is not cleared in either case, why do anything? One point that hasn't been mentioned is that RESET would probably be the fastest for a fixed memory array if you need to clear it a number of times during program execution. It uses a copy of the initial state of the memory which is "rubber stamped" over the whole area.
