And that's all fine, but regardless, I'd still run the test.  "Pretty large"
in what way?  It shouldn't take that long to set one up.  So what if it takes
an hour to run?  You will have spent a day waiting for an answer from the list
that you'll probably have to test anyway.

  Because the test would have to be pretty large.  There are various
factors that come into play such as size of the array (fixed) and how much
memory has been allocated to the based array (variable).

  Richard knows how arrays are implemented.  I think the question is how
ALLOC/DEALLOC works.
