Given the tone of some of this thread, maybe it should be something like:

tag BEATIT

dou horse <> DEAD
  if horse <> DEAD
     GOTO  SHOOTHORSE
  endif
  callp beat(horse)
enddo  
 
tag SHOOTHORSE
   callp kill(horse)
   GOTO BEATIT

Of course, I left off the semicolons. <g>  Mind you, this is only an
incremental improvement over the algorithm laid down by my predecessors.
