Hi Gene,

As I mentioned in another post I just finished, I'd do what all of us do now
when an EVAL doesn't fit on one line. Continue it on multiple lines without
having to put a continuation character, and without having to put a
statement terminator:


    c            eval    a =
    c                        %substr(c:1:5) +
    c                        %substr(d:5:10)

Note that the + sign is not a continuation character, it's a concatentation
character.
