Don't create a file in Qtemp for this purpose(you won't be able to do what
you want anyway - easily).

Have a Real file and just add a member unique to the job. Pass the member
name to the submitted job and it can use it. The Member then could be
removed by the appropraite job step.

It is a lot less system overhead to add a member than creating a file.
You will undoubtedly hear others say create a user space.

The member idea is low tech, works, and is visible, and recoverable if a
job error occurs.

DCL        &MEMBER     *CHAR     10   /* xxPFyyyy  Member Name   */

 /* --------------------------------------------------------------------
 /* Construct Member Name From Job Number and Override To The Member
 /* --------------------------------------------------------------------

              RTVJOBA    NBR(&MEMBER)
              CHGVAR     &MEMBER    ('Q' *CAT &MEMBER)

              ADDPFM     XXPFyyyy     MBR(&MEMBER)
              MONMSG     CPF0000      EXEC(DO)
              CLRPFM     xxPFyyyy     MBR(&MEMBER)
              ENDDO

your job stuff here

           RMVM       xxPFyyyy     MBR(&MEMBER)
           MONMSG     CPF0000

Hi all

I'm sure this is an easy way to do this that I don't know about. I have an
RPG program that produces a file in QTEMP. The job then submits a second
job. I need to be able to access the files created in the QTEMP library
from the first job. How can I pass the files with the submitted job? I
want to use QTEMP because several users can be running this job at the same
time and QTEMP will allow me to have individual copies of the same files
without banging into each other.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
