What I suggest is to set on the Auto Advance opt. code in DDS for the last
field in each page of the sub file. For each page you do the page down for the
user when they hit the field exit key. On the last page, you write a dummy
record with the alarm opt code, process the sub file and then return back to
the user.

This is not all that easy, you must really know how to manipulate the sub file.
I prefer to have the input on the sub file control record and write to the sub
file automatically. One the first page is complete, you roll one line at a
time. The last line will always show what the user just entered. A little
easier that I mentioned above.

Subject: Locking the Keyboard

Hi everyone,

I believe that this question would have been raised in this forum, but
I would appreciate your little time in helping me with a suggestion.

I have an input subfile that has 6 fields (all numeric). The control
part has two input fields. The user wants to enter the control fields
and automatically go into the subfile area and keep entering the values
into the subfile. User never looks at the screen while entering the
data. When the user enters the last record, they want the keyboard to
be locked with a beep sound. This will help them from entering further
values and they can press either enter (to confirm) or pagedown to
start entering fresh set of records in the subfile. The subfile is
initialized with 1000 records and there are about 18 records displayed
on the screen. Hence when the user presses pagedown the control does
not come into the program.

I thank everyone in advance for a supportive suggestions.

Regards
ChetanP
