thinking about the password field are we :)

If you use RPG, you can switch the upper and lower 4-bit nibbles. You can
also XOR a 10-byte value against a constant. As your ambition (or your
requirement for security) grows, you may try Playfair, mono-alphabetic
substitution, poly-alphabetic substitution, DES and it variations, Rijndael
(the AES selection), any of the public-key techniques using two prime-number
factors, or quantum crypto. What you choose depends on how long it has to
last and how good you think that your attacker is.

-|Subject: Encryption Program
-|
-|
-|I am wondering if anyone has written a program that will take a
-|field up to
-|10 digits/characters, and will encrypt it. Then you can take and enter
-|the encrypted characters/digits and it will then produce the original
-|data.
-|
-|If you have written a program like this would you be willing to share it,
-|or give some advice at how to go about doing this.
