Requesting feedback on database operations may inhibit blocking.
If you open file for update or for random access, it's not an issue, but
for sequential processing it could be a big hit.

Just a shot from the hip, but I remember one of the INFDS causing a
performance issue, IF, you asked for more extensive manual. My experience
on the performance is strictly based on what I've read in the manuals.
They will tell you whether it was program or file status and what
performance issues there are.

Does anyone know if it slows down program performance by including a File
Status Data Structure within the F-Specs?
If we are not using any of the information from the File Status Data
Structure should we avoid including it within the program?

For example:
FIlcOhd01 UF E K DISK Rename(IlcOhd:Ilcohd01R)
F INFDS(IlcOhd01Ds)
F Prefix(Ohd)

D IlcOhd01Ds E Ds ExtName( StdFlInfDs ) Prefix( Ohd1 )

Thanks in advance.
Brian Ellis.
