Wendy, the last time I had one of these oddities, it was because I had
parameter mis-matches.  Check for places in the program where the caller's
parameter definition doesn't match the called procedure's.  Are you using
CALLB or CALLP?  Another thing to think about is pointer based data
structures.  Good luck!
