Thank you all for your help (particularly John Carr and Bob Slaney). It was the CRTSQLRPGI COMMIT command paramter that was set to *CHG (I told you it was a dumb question!!!). And to John, I like your "WHENEVER" suggestion. We will adopt it. Gord Royle ---------- Original Text ---------- From: <jpcarr@TREDEGAR.COM>, on 9/27/00 2:31 PM: What does your DECLARE CURSOR statement look like? Are you using the FOR UPDATE OF clause? Like this? You have to specify which fields you are going to update. Just like on an RPG Excpt statement. John Carr C/Exec SQL C+ Declare Cursor-Name Cursor C+ For Select * C+ From Customer C+ Order By CsCity C+ For Update of CsDiscount C/End-Exec ------------------------------------------ This is probably one of the "dumb" ones. We are having a problem with insert, update and delete (but not select - stadalone or in a cursor) when we embed it in RPG-IV. If we run it from STRSQL, it works but when we try it from RPG it returns SQLCOD of -7008. We trired it with a single field file to eliminate any other problems (NOT NULL definitions, etc). Is there something we're missing?
