I am having a problem with some maintenance coding. The program is written in RPGIII. Here is the issue.... a CL changes a value in the *LDA. An RPG program is called that does not change the value in the *LDA in the positions we are talking about. This RPG program calls another RPG program. This program should take the positions of the *LDA and place the value on a display screen. This does not happen. I ran the final program in debug and found that: 1. The display screen is shown before the program is executed. In other words, the display screen is shown, then when the user presses enter, the program is executed. The datapath on the display record format is shared, but no other program displays the screen before the problem program. 2. The value of the *LDA is blank. The CL wrote the values of 'NN' in the *LDA in those positions, but in debug, the value is blanks. 3. The value of the *LDA after the program is executed is the correct value ('NN'). 4. The *LDA is defined in the program and I checked positions around the defined positions to make sure the value was not stored in a different position. The position described in the program is the correct position. The *LDA is defined and read using these statements: C *NAMVAR DEFN *LDA LDA C IN LDA Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks.....
