     There have been several posting within the last several months on 
     creating an SQL command line interface using QMQuery objects. I 
     think you should be able to find them in the archives. Once you can 
     enter SQL statements, the rest is easy.

The SQL Development Kit is required for STRSQL as well.  The product 
provides:
- language pre-compilers for RPG (/400 and IV), COBOL, C, etc which support 
embedded SQL
- interactive execution of SQL (STRSQL command)
- batch stream execution of SQL (RUNSQLSTM command) 
- Query Manager
     
The Common Language Interface (CLI) and Query Management are part of 
OS/400.  You might consider the latter  in order to CREATE PROCEDURE - but 
STRSQL is the simplest method for performing the task.
