%Equal is used on Setll or Lookup Kalman Shor -----Original Message----- From: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of booth@martinvt.com Sent: Sunday, September 10, 2000 11:22 PM To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: READE is confusing to me ah! thanks. I hadn't made the connection. Where would one use %Equal? (I'm not trying to start a dou vs. dow debate. I tried with both DOW and DOU but was failing both ways. I just didn't understand the %equal I guess.) _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Joep Beckeringh" <joep@beckeringh.myweb.nl> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 09/10/2000 04:28 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: <RPG400-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: Re: READE is confusing to me Booth, Hmm, haven't had any DOW/DOU wars for at least a week, I think:-) You use 'DOW %equal and not %eof', but neither have been influenced by the preceding CHAIN. So the outcome is the result of things outside the code fragment. In this case 'DOU %eof(INVDET)' would make more sense. Two remarks: %equal does not make sense here; it might make sense after a SETLL. Although the compiler does not agree with me, I think the filename should be required when using these BIFs with files.
