It is possible. It is done all the time. If you are using rpg/400 it
hasn't changed in any major way since CPF release 2 in about 1982.

Have you considered that you aren't executing the program that you are
debugging? you might check the library list to see if your STRDBG is
hitting the program that your app is calling.

Subject: Can I call a CL program from RPG and pass parms back and forth?

I have a CL program that does some field validity checking. I want to call
it from an RPG program. I'd like to pass parameters from RPG to the CL,
have the CL update the parms, pass them back to RPG, then have the RPG
program use those values.

I'm having trouble. It appears that the CL program is either doing nothing,
or the RPG program isn't actually calling it.

I'm a little rusty on my RPG. STRDBG and ADDBKP don't seem to be working
properly, either. STRDBG seems to work, and ADDBKP seems to work, but I'm
not hitting any breaks and I KNOW I'm cruising through that part of the
code. I haven't used these things since v3r1.

Maybe I'm just tired....

Is it possible to call CL from RPG or not?

Any ideas?

Thanks.
