I don't see how to do that in an edit code, but if I had to do it, I would:
eval      myfield = %editc(number:'3')
if        %substr(myfield:%len(myfield)-2:2) = '00'
eval      %substr(myfield:%len(myfield)-2:2) = '  '
endif
if        %substr(myfield:%len(myfield)-1:1) = '0'
eval      %substr(myfield:%len(myfield)-1:1) = ' '
endif

and then print myfield instead of number.
