Martin

I didn't mean to be trite. In 20 years I have been asked that "Lots" of
times. On the surface, it would seem to be a valid request. As you
have seen with the with the responses, None of which are error free.
Like "Divide the number of records ......... Well how many total lines do
you space or skip for? New page for each dept/division/company?? ..
Bottom line is "It don't work" .

This type of programming request falls under what my father used to call
"Spending dollars to pick up pennies"

That's all. No disrespect intended.

Why do you think wanting to know the total number of pages there are in
a report is ridiculous? Sounds quite reasonable to me. Quite useful
for anyone taking it off the printer too, I should think.

Cheers,

Martin.
