Define "too much involvement" ;-)

Since you didn't like the SFLINZ / CHAIN / UPDATE suggestion I presented 
yesterday how about you forget subfiles and create an 80 element array, load it 
then display
elements 1-16 in column 5, elements 17 - 33 in column 4 and so on.
