For speed, you could override the database file to wait(0) and test for
record lock and send a message to the user to try again later.  This way,
you would not have the program hang for 2 minutes (default wait time) trying
to get the lock.  I have a program that actually will tell the user who is
locking up the record so they can call or go to the other user's screen (the
one on the 4 hour lunch/meeting) and free up the record.

Only one person can lock a record and all others must wait.

The best thing to do would be to test for a lock and send a message to the
