#1, I already bought the book. Good book Brad. ($99 though... had to skip lunch that week.) #2 But! If we buy it through www.midrange.com the list gets a commission and David's one step nearer to having an AS/400 for midrange.com and these mailing lists. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Lehti, Eric" <eric.lehti@fike.com> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 07/07/2000 03:23 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: "'RPG400-L@midrange.com'" <RPG400-L@midrange.com>, "'bvstone@taylorcorp.com'" <bvstone@taylorcorp.com> cc: Subject: RE: Notice: False Review on Amazon.com of e-RPG book Bradley, I despise anyone who would impersonate another (e.g. Al Barsa) to give you a bad review. Whoever did it was unprofessional. I am purchasing your book today to demonstrate my support for you and e-RPG. I also support your efforts in getting the false review deleted. Good luck. For some reason the URL link you provided did not work for me. Amazon supplied a message: "ASIN 1583470085/002-70 does not exist in our catalog. Would you like to try your search again?" I performed my own search on Amazon using "eRPG" and found your book. The URL I have is directly below. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1583470085/o/qid=962996939/sr=2-1/103 -2348651-9399001 Eric Lehti -----Original Message----- From: Stone, Brad V (TC) [mailto:bvstone@taylorcorp.com] Sent: Friday, July 07, 2000 12:12 PM To: 'RPG400-L@midrange.com' Subject: Notice: False Review on Amazon.com of e-RPG book This mail is to inform everyone that a review of my e-RPG book that says is by Al Barsa is false, and was not posted by Al Barsa or are these his views in the least bit. The link is: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ts/book-customer-reviews/1583470085/002-70 82495-2949663 The review is as follows: --- begin quote --- "Reviewer: Al Barsa from USA Maybe I expected more, but this book really did not provide a very good insight into the complexities of building e-commerce. Rather it seemed to promote what could be done with RPG Programming Language and suggest this was sufficient. The book requires a leap of faith to believe that what is delivered is a good solution. There is no justification to the approach apart from that the programming language is RPG and the implication is RPG is good. Hopefully the AS/400 programming community will ignore this book and build real e-commerce solutions" ----- end of quote ----- I have been in contact with Al and he wants it to be known that he did not post this. Al is in London right now visiting family and can't post to this list, so he wanted me to pass along this information. He will confirm this message on the Midrange-L mailing list as soon as he returns. If anyone has any contacts at Amazon and can help us find the IP address of the person that posted this, or to simply get it removed, it would be a great help. We are working to get this review removed as well, as it is no doubt a joke in very poor taste that doesn't help the book, Al, myself, or the AS/400 community as a whole.
