  • Subject: Re: How to best log msg from RPG/IV to job log ?

I have experimented with calling the bindable API CEEMOUT, which, according
to the notes section of the API documentation does the following ..."A
CPF9898 message of type *INFO is used to log the message being dispatched.
It is sent to the message queue of the caller of CEEMOUT. Message CPF9898
appends a period to the displayed text."
I understand this to mean it should generate an entry in the job log. The
following program (compiled to activation group QILE) fails to do this when
called interactively. Is it coded wrong or am I misunderstanding the
purpose of the API ?
D QmsgString S 256 VARYING INZ('Test CEEMOUT')
D QdestCode S 10I 0 INZ(2)
D Qfeedback S 12 INZ(' ')

C CallB 'CEEMOUT'
C Parm QmsgString
C Parm QdestCode
C Parm Qfeedback

C EVAL *INLR = *ON
C RETURN
