I had the same problem, what you have it now? I can provide you some solutions for that and it depends up on the nature of your project and requirements. 1. What u have to do is just create different LFs for the different sorting you need and what you have to do is before showing the subfile you can ask the user to select the sort mode he like to view. Once he selects the mode then you have to call the particular programs, which uses appropriate LF to build the subfile. Though this process is a round up process, its very clear to program and understand. (Hard Coding) 2. You u are good in OPNQRYF then u can use opnqry file to open the file in certain keyfield sequence overrding the database in shared mode and from the CL program you can call the RPG program, which handles the subfile. Its is a very very easy method but here also U need to have a scrren for sort mode selection before showing the subfile. 3. You can acheive the same through programming EQUAL subfile. But its too tedious and time consuming process. I would like to suggest you to go for simple, clear and efficent ideas. If its desprate then u need to program. Any clarifications, pls welcome! I am trying to give to user chance, when listing in a subfile, to see the records sorted ... any suggestions ?
