Right, there's something else going on here.  I took the original poster's
questions as two separate issues, the pseudocode refers to the endless loop,
and the real code sample refers to the problem that is solved by adding the
IF test, as we suggested.  On the endless loop, I already suggested that it
might be related to testing the wrong things in the DOU or that the right
things are being tested, but variables are being changed in ways that the
programmer didn't account for.
