Andrew,

Actually, I once did do a short review of Flex/Edit for News/400's
Product Quarterly. But that was a *long* time ago. I don't even
remember if it was the DOS edition or the first Windows edition. But
it definitely was before Aldon had the product. At the time it was
still owned by Picante Software.

I did this for free because -- as others have noted -- editors become
somewhat of a religious issue when you get endeared to one. I do not
find SEU/400 endearing, although I do like it better than other
midrange source editors I've used (SM on the S/3-15D, SEU/32/34/36,
FSEDIT on the S/34/36, and DSU on the S/36). Actually, DSU was a lot
like SEU for the S/38 or AS/400.

I have nothing against CODE/400, but I use Flex because I had it long
before there was a Windoze version of CODE, and because I have Flex
largely personalized to what I like.

CODE/400 is also a good editor. I'd be happy to see IBM drastically
reduce the price of CODE or even make it part of the base ADTS
license.

Doug
