I'm not very knowledgeable with Menu Bars, but there is a great book out titled The AS/400 Programmer's Handbook "A Toolbox of Examples for Every AS/400 Programmer". The author has a section on Pull-Down Menu Bars. The examples *all code included* are very good.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a definition of the Menu Bar (MNUBAR) Keyword: The menu bar (MNUBAR) keyword appears at the record format level and defines the format as a menu bar. The menu bar keyword accepts two optional parameters: *Separator and *Noseparator. The default *Separator parameter specifies that a separator line should be displayed after the last of the available menu bar choices. *Noseparator suppresses the separator line. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have not idea of why you cannot hide the menu bar and display it when prompted to. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ : ) |--------+-----------------------> | | rbrightman@am| | | clog.com | | | | | | 05/25/2000 | | | 12:08 PM | | | Please | | | respond to | | | RPG400-L | | | | |--------+-----------------------> >--------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: RPG400-L@midrange.com | | cc: (bcc: Darlene H Bryant/Banpharm) | | Subject: Menu Bar | >--------------------------------------------------------| The Menu bar keyword lets you specify separators or no separators. Well if you specify no separators and try to use line 2 the screen will not compile? What gives? You may use indicators on the menu display but the screen compile will not accept indicator at this level. What gives? The menu display can be either in a record or on the menu bar record. Why will the system not allow the overlay of the menu bar record. I cannot make the menu bar display optional because it will not overlay the other screen.
