Reading through 260 million records is no problem at all. I read through 400
million record files quite often. If the order in which you read through
this file is not important to you then I would suggest reading the physical
file in arrival sequence (No K in the F spec). From the wording of your
question it sounds like you may be afraid the AS/400 is going to try to
bring the whole table into memory. Don't worry if that is the case because
the As/400 is a lot smarter than that :-) Also instead of sorting this file
etc you may want to consider putting multiple logical files on the physical
that are keyed in the order that you want to see the data.
