SQL
does have it's place within RPG. Stored Procedures are an absolute breeze with
embedded SQL since you can, in most cases, pass the entire SQL string to the
program. Although SQL is by no means a replacement for RPG, there are instances
where it can cohabit usefully. I won't even talk about interactive SQL which I
think is a god-send.

I agree that SQL and RPG need to work

How? Can you give an
example?
It gives RPG dynamic access to data, which is a
very powerful feature.
I can think of a few cases
where it would be handy, but, with the exception of connecting to another
system, I would rather separate the selection of the data from the logic of data
manipulation.
