I don't remember the exact acronym, but it's Binary Large Object Something, or Something Large Object Binary. Basically, it's just a bunch of bytes, that can represent anything that can be stored as bytes. A picture, a program, a movie, graphics, whatever. They are used a lot of times to store scanned images.
