There's nothing that you could send to a browser from WebSphere that you couldn't also send to the browser using a CGI app. If anything, using WebSphere would help prevent mistakes that would be possible using direct CGI programming since you don't write out the HTTP headers directly using JSPs or servlets. Regarding JavaScript, I ran into one web page a coupla days ago that used JavaScript to verify an "access code" to a privileged web page, believe it or not! Cheers!
