Dave,

Your points are well taken.  Maybe I should quit the contracting business
and (hopefully) find a forward-looking employer that either already invested
in the advanced tools you speak of or would be willing to do so.  Either
that, or hope that the next OS/400 version/release will include Code/400 in
the ADT.

As a contractor, my voice only has so much weight.  I remember asking
Prodata several years ago if they would consider a "travelling contractor"
license for their DBU product, and they responded that I could get a
commission for each DBU product I "sold" to my clients.  (Now, thank
goodness for WRKDBF!)

Stuck between a rock and a hard place.
