Here is the easy way to indicate whether overflow should happen in the RPG
(using Externally Described Printer Files),

f PrinterFileName E Printer OFLIND(*IN99)

c
c Write DetailRecord
99 <-------- in column 56-57 (Err or < column)
c If *IN99
c Write HeaderRecord 99 <-------- *in99
will automatically setoff.
c Endif
c
c

Of course make sure you defined your HeaderRecord to Skip Before to a
particullar line, like line 1 (whatever).

My 2 cents worth..........

Currently I am doing the following code and was thinking how
sweet it would be if we could define our own indicators on the
OFLIND instead of using just *IN indicators.

FCHGAUTOBJPO E PRINTER OFLIND(*IN01)
------------ 29 data records excluded ------------------
 * Redefine the Overflow Indicator
D OverflowP S * inz(%addr(*in01))
D OverFlow S N based(OverflowP)
------------ 35 data records excluded ------------------
C *INZSR BEGSR
C write HEADER
C EndSr

C DetSub BEGSR
C------------ 1 data records excluded ------------------
C If OverFlow
C eval OverFlow=*off
C Write HEADER
C EndIf
C Write DETAIL
C EndSr
