This is a bigger question than it might seem. First thing to look at is the logic for processing the option keys. There are several different ways of doing it. At some point the option field for the subfile record has to be cleared and there needs to be an update to the subfile record format. I think the first thing I would look for would be updates to the subfile record format. Next thing would be the logic for returning to the list from the list detail. Does returning from the list detail clear the option field? If the application is badly written, there's no guarantee that that any of this is done in a straight forward manner. Good luck. -----Original Message----- From: Quazy [mailto:quazy@SoftHome.net] Sent: Monday, April 03, 2000 12:06 PM To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: Subfile help I have a application that was written by a outside consultant(very poorly written), which uses subfiles(I have very little experience with them). Question: The user is presented with the information and has options and function keys. when you do a 5 for display you can look at the detail info. Then press F12 to cancel and you are at the header screen with the option still there, which is what I want. The you space or delete the option off and use a function key and get a error because there is a option and the 5 reappears. So I need to Re read the screen when ever the function key is pressed to see if the screen has changed. but I cant seem to get it to work. any help would be greatly appreciated. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
