Are you trying to update the detail file? if so, you will need to put the
OPTION(*all) keyword on your OPNQRYF statement.

Subject: Matching Records and OpnQryf

I am trying to repair a program that uses matching records between its
master file and its detail file.

When I try to use an opnqryf to sort the detail file into the correct
order I get the following

CPF4123 - Open Options ignored for shared open

The Type code is 8

8 - The arrival sequence is not the same as that specified on the first
open operation.

since it bypasses the opnqryf the matching records bomb.

What am I missing ?
