There is a web site that you can look up acronyms. Check out acronymfinder.com. Just key in the acronym and it returns a list of possibilities of what the acronym may stand for. I do not know where you saw DF and SF, but if I saw DF as relating to a file, I would figure it was Database File, but could be wrong. No idea what SF is besides Science Fiction.
