Paul,

I would really like to be able to create a Negative(numval) subprocedure, but 
it can't be done effectively 
without additional compiler and operational descriptor support.  The only 
alternative today is to create 
a routine for every numeric format or a conversion routine, and pass the 
attributes of the numeric variable. 
So it would have to be something like: 

Negative(numval:'P':%len:%decpos)
