I ran into the exact same thing. After trying CPYTOIMPF and writing my own, I finally decided that I would look at what software packages were available. I found a package by Millennium Information Systems called "Convert to PC File". It allows any database file to be converted to a true Excel file. It works great and is inexpensive (under $500). I have a csv file, that has quotes" around character fields, and nothing around numeric fields.

I need to look at all the character fields and make shure that they only have one set of quotes in it, or the program that uses it will blow up.

example.

This one is ok

10008,"DE LA BARRE, CRAIG","3120 OGORMAN","AZTEC","AZ","57105",,,,"DECRAIG"

This one is bad the "A" has quotes but is inside of another field

10049,"GOHL, DONALD","1520 "A" RIVERDALE RD","DE SMET","MN","57105",,,1833770

Any suggestions on what would be the best way to approach this?
