Hi Booth,

The key field has to be a field in the file specified in the FORMAT
parameter. This may require a dummy physical file to be used as your FORMAT
file. The help text for the key field parameter of opnqryf states:

"All key fields for an open query file must appear in the query records
processed through the file.  The fields named in the record format
identified on the Format specifications prompt (FORMAT parameter) must
include all key fields for the open query file, even if *FILE is specified
to use the existing access path of a keyed file."
