Jeff, >I agree. This happens to me all the time. It is annoying, and I'm not sure why it happens with a list like David's. With UseNet, I attribute it to the multi-server approach of relaying messages, with some taking longer and others never getting there at all... But with all messages being received and sent from one server (aren't they?), I don't know why this happens. >I have Communicator set to >sort mail by thread, I ass-u-me it would do it by date/time within >thread, but nooooooooo. . . I do the same with Forte Agent, and it does do it by date/time within the thread. Or at least it tries to. The problem is that it adjusts the send times of the messages by the UTC offset of the sender (which is also in the message header). When the sender's date, time, and/or UTC offset is wrong then the adjusted time used for my thread sorting is also wrong. It's why we sometimes on complaints asking others to fix the clocks on their system. But at least when they come in the same batch of messages, it is understandable. What I don't get is why sometimes you get the follow-up long before the original message.
