That tells me, if I want to use a - as a date separator, as in
02-22-00 I would use the character '-', if I wanted to use /
as in 02/22/00 I would use '/' and if I wanted blanks as in
02 22 00 I would use '&'.

Although I could be wrong, I have never used it myself, that's
what it seems to be saying to me.
