In general you can use Client Access file transfer program:

1.  Create the physical file with the fields corresponding to the columns
in the spreadsheet.
2.  Download this file to create the file description file(FDF).  I think
you may need one dummy record in the file.
3.  Use the FDF when you upload to the host AS400.  Also specify the type
of file you are uploading from.

I know this works because I do it on a regular basis.  The trick is setting
everything up correctly. (So what else is new, right?)
