And the holy war has begun :-) And for the less fortunate like me who would dare to use embedded SQL at every possible oppertunity, (since the fecility is available), programming using RPG cycle provides more complexity in regards to many aspects such as code maintainence and knowledge sharing. My comments are based on the following assumptions 1. The present day programmers, would rather feel comfortable learning SQL (if they have to), than going back to those old schools and learn about concepts of RPG cycle. 2. They could find many avenues to find help for new technology such as embedded SQL, where as the lack of expertise as it is with RPG cycle programming might lead to further demotivation. 3. And last but not the least they always would feel that they have upgraded their skill set to a new generation language.
