Thanks for that, Joe.  I actually joined the list about the time the
CF-specs debate was getting heated.  I wondered what people were talking
about at first, but waited and got the gist by reading all the posts.
However, I wondered then, and I wonder now (though I'd forgotten about
it inbetween times) how people came to know about these ideas in the
first place.  Have IBM formally published future proposals, or did Hans
and/or Barbara let this out?  Or something else?
