"RCLRSC may be a blunt instrument from a technical point of view, but used as the last action in a sort of driver program, it made sure the environment was neat and tidy (as far as we could tell) when the user returned to the menu. And we did not feel the performance hit we get when after a RCLACTGRP a new activation group has to be built. I kinda miss RCLRSC." No disrespect, but a design that relies on RCLRSC/RCLACTGRP to tidy up after itself is a flawed design. If a "driver" program allocates resources, it should clean them up. If this means adding a cleanup "method" to the driver program, so be it. ____________ Paul Cunnane Mattel Interactive +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
