Sure but don't know if the AS/400 has security on the pointers to prevent
another job from accessing the temp storage of another job using a pointer.
Some of this is also controlled by your security setting. I believe a 50 or
higher will not allow you to store a pointer in a user space but not sure.
Do not have time to research now. 

Other might have a better understanding.

A pointer can be stored in an user space???

So it would be possible to pass it on to another job in the system??? Such a
security hole on my beloved AS/400???
