Another option, depending on your application, might be sorting the data in the user space. If you're intending to populate a user-space once, and then just need to read it in a certain sequence, sorting may be a good option. If you decide to go this route, the QLGSORT api will sort data in a user-space. If the data in the user space is going to be changing frequently, (so that you'd need to keep resorting it) using either a user-index or a user-index in combination with a user-space would probably work better.
